pull the oil fill cap off and check the underside of it. If it's got chocolate milk looking goo on it, you blew the headgasket.

Are you losing coolant by chance?

changing fuel filter, engine start with no problems, except white smoke,
car was sitting for 2 weeks, after all work drive for 30 minutes(white smoke),
today start engine smoke gone drive like champ, oil look normal, coolant level OK for

you might have a valve seal that is leaking, and when the truck sits for long periods of time, it allows oil to accumulate in the cylinder. When you changed the oil, it might have dis=lodged whatever caught in the seal.

Keep an eye on it for a couple weeks.

sounds like you are lucky.

When oil burns it creates blue smoke not white. White smoke is essentially steam and is a result of heated water. So unless he is misdiagnosing the color of the smoke, it is coolant that is getting into a cylinder and not oil.

I'm jealous. I've always wanted a vehicle that heals itself.
