I put in my two weeks notice today. Butter sweet for sure. I'm excited about the new job though. I was fitted for uniforms yesterday. I start the 20th.
Just need to find a trailer and pack my stuff up for the move.

You think your truck will be able to pull a trailer? 😛
Bakersfield. Visalia may be a temporary lay over at my dads house if I can't find a place soon enough. Visalia is 1/2 the commute compared to Ventura, with the added bonus of being free. Dad is hardly ever home. Right now he's on the fire in Rancho.
Same industry, just more long term. I plan to be there at least 4 years. Year 1 is probation/experience time, year 2 is paramedic school (this is paid for by the company, and I get paid full time to go to school), then years 3 and 4 are working as a paramedic for the company as part of the agreement for them to pay for my school.
Its a great company. But I'll miss my coworkers here at Bowers for sure.
Will be heading down to Ventura today as I finally got the address of the lady who bought the Ranchero. Google maps shows two different routes, 5 fwy, and 33. If I take the 33 it will mean an extra 30 minutes of driving, but I will bypass the grapevine. Still need to go over mountains, but IIRC they are not as steep as the grapevine. Maybe take 33 down when towing the Ranchero, and come back via the grapevine with the trailer empty. Or just take the grapevine both ways and save time.
Depending on the time of day, I'd stay off the 101 in the SFV. Take the 405 at the I-5 split about one mile to the 118 West, and go west through Simi Valley to where it becomes the 23 (just stay on the freeway) and then down to the 101-North. It bypasses most of the San Fernando Valley 405 and 101 traffic.
