An update on my situation. The carb was still a no go Thursday so removed it. Also removed the driver door latch as it decided it was time for the spring to break and fall down into the door. So now I have another little problem to take care of. Yipee.
I did get a call through to the local flathead guy and will take my carb and visit him on Saturday. He has a spare that I can use and also may come and see my truck and listen to it and give his opinion. I'm thinking the intake has to come off and some adjustments made. Will hear from the machine shop on Monday. I'll update then. Thanks for the kind words and advice.

Some days I look at my truck and want to replace everything so everything will be new... then I come to my senses and just fix whatever breaks next!

Visited the local flathead guy and I think the carb problem is cured. A bit of crap in the float bowl and some possible crap affecting the pin and the seat. New fuel line and clean tank so maybe some crap from the fuel pump as it was not a new replacement.
He is available to help with the lifter adjustment if the machine shop lets me down. Lots of neat stuff in his garage and a great guy so this is a plus against all the problems.

Maybe all of the problems were just a way a leading you to this guy. Sounds like a good one to know.

Yeah you're right topmoo, he is a good guy to know. Not too many flathead fans in this area. Somehow things do seem to be for a reason but wonder why they do go the way they do. Fate ?
Things have always seemed to workout for me in the long run. Can't complain.

Enhanced drivers licence will get me over the river but don't go over a lot due to the border security people. Went over for the Woodward dream cruise and we got the only person in Michigan that had never heard of it ! Not much fun anymore dealing with them but will get over for a few car shows hopefully.
Maybe I'll see you at the Woodward show.( With my truck hopefully. )

Well Pete if he was messing with us about Woodward he needs an Oscar ! Usually they are all business. Found a couple springs so just have to install one to fix my door latch. Maybe time for a new post to see if anyone has installed one of these springs in their door latch.
I'll know more on my engine problem and what the machine shop has as an answer after going to the shop Monday.
