My 360fe has been sitting for about 7 months. Is there anything special i should put in it or what not, besides oil change. I was going to use engine cleaner like marvel mystery but my step dad said that it would cause more leaks and just lead to mroe problems eventually. Thanks in advance.

7 months isn't too bad, I'd be more concerned about the gas, especially if you're in CA. These reformulated fuels don't last that long.

I wouldn't worry about 7 months. My 352 sat for 3 years and was never started.

My 360 sat from about 1988 or so to about 2000 when I started working on it. It wasnt started, or even looked at, in that time period. To get it going, I changed the oil, rebuilt the carb, and it started right up. The biggest thing I would be concerned with after 7 months is moisture getting in the fuel in the carburetor and causing corrosion. When I took mine apart after the 12 (or so) years of sitting, the float bowls looked like they were full of barnacles. It took some work to get that thing clean.

I would suggest a thorough cleaning and rebuilding of the carb.

I live on the northside, and there was a 72 f100 with a 302 sitting for 3 years, crunk it up 1st time and drove it home from the west side the same day.
