it just shuts off!!

Hello
Hey I need some idea as to what might be the problem with my 1995 f250 7.3l diesel! A few days ago when I had just started my truck and started driving it just shut off! I turned the key off and then started it again and it started just like normal! Then yesterday I was driving it down the road and it shut off about 2 or 3 times but it would start again without me turning the key or slowing down, it just lurched a little bit? Then today when I tryed to start it one time it turned over for longer then normal? Does anyone have an idea of what it might be?
Thanks

P.S. I will be going on duty soon till Sunday so I prob won't reply till then!

Automatic or manual transmission?

When it restarts on its own, does the WTS light come on?

CPS??? I would have a spare on hand anyway, Ford or International Only, parts store ones are junk and can be bad out of the box.

^^^^ CPS is the other prime suspect, and a spare is a good thing. But before crawling under the truck, you'll want to narrow it down. If the WTS light comes on when it re-starts on its own, that indicates an interruption in main power (loose fuse, bad ignition switch, etc). If it doesn't, but the tach drops to zero and then returns, that fingers the CPS / wiring to it.

It is an automatic transmission. the time I was moving fast it started on its own but one time when I just started moving it shut of and I had to restart it with the key. Also there are no lights that come on!

With an automatic, if you're going fast enough, and the interruption is short enough, and esp. if it's just the CPS and the PCM is still active, the torque converter will stay locked, and will keep turning the engine through the drivetrain. So when the engine control is restored, the engine will start running again on its own. But if you're just starting out, when it's interrupted the TQ won't keep the engine turning and it will stall, and that's why you have to turn the key.

The TQ staying locked, plus the WTS light not coming on, indicates the PCM power is NOT being interrupted, so the CPS is def. the prime suspect. That, or the wiring to it.

I've got an IH CPS in the glove box; I'll check that part number.

I called to the IH dealer here in my town and gave me a NEW # PART:
1876735c91, could you verify that in the IH dealer in USA? or if this is the number of your IH CPS?

Wow, more different numbers. BTW I think you miss a 9 in the second number:
1825899c3 vs. 1825899c93
