Electronic shift lock
Drove my 96 f150 truck parked it went to get in it shortly after and my shifter won't come out of park abs lights flashing as well is it a combined? And is the shift problem a fuse our wiring our what? I can by pass it by turning the key one click and put it in neutral but what's wrong with the shift lock?

The problem will still be there, but you'll be able to get it out of park without hassle.
As far as abs light, probably need to get it scanned. I don't recall a self diagnostic for that. But if your 96 is obd2, and may be combined with the ecu codes. Not sure.

I thought of this a couple of days ago, when my brake light switch wire broke off my mustang. I already unhooked my shift solenoid so I didn't notice the issue. Some guy at a red light run up and told me I had no brake lights, got to work, looked at brake switch and thought , I should post the switch could cause it to not shift out of park... But if your brake lights work, then it's not the issue.
