I just got a nice 1994 Ford F-150 Sport XL Standard Cab Pickup 2-Door 4.9L 300Cu. In. l6...love it, so far.
I've read all the posts regarding headlight buzzers, etc...
Can someone tell me if my truck has the headlight buzzer option? I read that it might not have been an option on XLs. This would save me time in determining if mine's broken or absent.
Also, do these trucks have floor courtesy lights? Mine doesn't seem to, but it might be burned bulbs. Where are the sockets located under the dash so I can verify.
My 97 had one I took it out. It was to the right of the steering column almost behind the ash tray. I do not remember this year range having floor lights . They are on the roof only.
My 95 ranger is obd2. Obd2 port and when the cat went out I had to have an obd2 cat. Put on it. Being my luck it was the most expensive of the two.
95 is a split year for obd1/obd2. Ford is notorious for mid year or split year changes.

well there are lights in the door of mine that kind of shine down on the floor, but the ones on the roof of mine are bright enough to shine down on the floor as well. i know there are no lights actually under the dash of mine, but if you need lights down there a 5 dollar led strip would work nicely. i have the headlight and door buzzer on mine but it is an xlt..... its also unplugged.... if you have one and its plugged in it should ding at first when you start it, its on a plug that has a whole bunch of blades on it under the wheel a little to the right, most get unplugged becuase they are annoying and girly sounding in my opinion.
You can always go to the local junk yard and fund a 94 suburban and pull the under dash lights from it. One screw per light one light per side and they are bright. One wire per light hook up self grounding socket.
So, my truck's warning buzzer module has 6 connectors - these operate the key-in buzzer, seat belt buzzer. The connector it plugs into has 7 connections - the 7th is for the headlight-on warning buzzer. It's the brown wire. Just use a tester to verify you have 12V to the 7th, key out, lights on. Mine did.
So, if you swap the 6 connector module with a 7 connector module, you'll have a headlight buzzer built in.
Of course, you could also get a decent aftermarket one for LMC, but I'm sorta partial get the all-in-one, ford module.
