Ok guys new problem tonight I was coming home from a buddies place got on the interstate and my o/d light started flashing, I got home going through the parking lot when it would shift it was a violent hard shift, what is it/could it be?
As DarkStarMedia mentioned you need to find someone to read the codes for your trans. I believe a flashing OD light means the trans is in limp mode, thats why it started shifting differently.
Well i went to aamco they tried to pull codes and they couldnt get any but they took it for a test drive and... time for a rebuild not what i wanted to do but my truck does have 312xxx on the clock so its worn out and would need one anyways soon
If they can't read the codes, they're not competent/qualified to work on your truck. Aamco has a... er... spotty reputation even on those vehicles with which they have some experience. Take it to a shop that specifically knows how to obtain codes from an OBS PSD. Or get AE or other device that communicates with the OBS PSD and obtain the codes yourself.

If it is flashing there are defiantly codes. As long as you do not disconnect the batteries they will be there.
Find someone with the right tools. It could jut be the torque converter or a weak solenoid.
If you let us know your location there maybe someone near by that has AE.
Thanks guys, im currently in phoenix az, i took it to strictly diesel first then to ford then to aamco and they all said no codes so im dumbfounded strictly said they dont really do much for transmissions so i brought it to ford i watched them try to pull codes and they couldnt get anything and said it needed a rebuild but theu wanted 5k+ so i went to aamco and they couldnt get anything either ive sunk about 10k into the truck already so if anyone here is in phoenix let me know i would love help doing work to it to save money as well as pointers and info, like ive said in other posts im a motorcycle tech i can do plenty to automotive but diesels are alil new to me
