Just recently I've been having an issue with my OD light blinking and throwing me out of OD when I'm cruising down the highway. When it does this and I come to a stop, its almost like it failed to downshift or the shift points are just all messed up... If you turn the key off and restart, everything is fine. And then today, when I was driving through town, the TC started slipping and I lost all power, but if I shifted into "2" manually, it would drive just fine. This case, there was no OD light blinking.
Has anyone ever heard of anything like this? I've had it scanned at the parts stores and they couldn't read any code. Does anyone suggest a scanner that can also read tranny codes? Any help would be appreciated. I'm leaning towards something electrical, but an not sure yet.
Will one of the cheap ones from amazon read the trans codes? I know they do ok with CEL ones, but haven't found one yet that will help with my trans codes.
Again , have you ever heard anyone fixing this issue due to :Flakes: ? Flakes do not come and go .
What the hell do I know .
I know if you get some stuck on the sensor, it wont read right. And I guess they can cause bad shifts on an auto.
Differentials dont have filters in them, they have galleys for the .... extra's to fall into. Sometimes they make it to a magnet and stick there.
But depending on how much you got in there, you're damn right, could be a far worse issue. I've found some sorta metal flake in the little galley on every rear end i've opened. Granted, you've worked on far more than me, but when i'm 15/15 on this. I just believe it at this point. But I"m talking a few little flakes, not more than that.
