I dont remember seeing this online here but if it was posted already i apologize. Dennis carpenter is now reproducing the ribbed front and rear bumpers in chrome. I saw them at the spring carlisls on saturday. They look pretty nice. I also saw a few sets of the new 51-52 rear fenders at a couple booths. They also look very nice.
If they're really nice, no waves or scratches, and they fit right, $275 is a good deal. I think you'd spend more than that getting an original straightened and plated at a chrome shop. Thanks for sharing!

Agreed!! I've been saving a few decent front bumpers for my trucks. Now there's no reason. At $275, it's a steal. I hope DC will make a non-chrome bumper available for those that want to paint theirs. I wonder when the 51-52 rear bumper is coming out and possibly the 51-52 grille???
I'd be very surprised if the DC repro is as thick of steel as original. They are VERY heavy. The repro 48-50 bumpers I've seen appear to be thinner than OEM.

I'm sure you are correct. But that's ok. I don't plan on pushing anything around with my truck, anyway.
A very good price for a rear bumper .The 1ST-RIDE ribbed rear bumper was just over that price to have it straigtened & plated . Am wondering if any one noticed if the repops have the factory index notch on the RR bottom of the rear bumper & the notch on the LF bottom of the front bumper .If not would be a a great indicator of original vs. repop .Just curious .
They do not have the notch. Also they drill two large holes on the top side of the rear bumper so it can be plated. Really stupid. Why would you drill 2 11/16 (around that size) holes in the top side?? Why not the bottom? So now Im going to have a really nice rear bumper that's upside down
The holes are to hang the bumper in the tanks . I can see a smaller hole . Helped plate the drive shaft in the show van in the late '70's . We had to figure out a way to hold in under the chemicals in te tanks .They float !
