Work truck needing repairs

Well i use a 85 f250 lariat 4x4 long bed for all my hauling needs ( I have a dump bed kit installed too) Masonry, dumping very heavy loads of Rocks, and Masonry stone. Well I need to replace a rear leaf spring bracket and don't know what bracket it is. Here is a pic, it is rusty but I really love this truck. I have a few repairs to make with help I will need. This is the first one ,repair, question:
What part is this tips on repacing it:thanks!

Are you talking about the spring hanger riveted to the frame?

O'Reilly's is claiming to have them:List: Leaf Spring Hanger/Shackle - 1985 Ford F-250 | O'Reilly Auto Parts

The old ones will have to be drilled out and chiseled off. The bushings inside the springs look bad as well. I would go with energy suspension urethane if they make them for that truck. You know, honestly those springs look like they have seen better days too. This would be the time to change them if you were going to. You could even go up to a heavier spring then.

I would at least replace the bolts in the springs. When you pull them out I bet they are almost worn in half. I coat the bolt and inside of the bushing with a healthy dose of bearing grease. This keeps some of the wear minimized and lets the metal insert on the bushing not bind with the bolt when working.

Might want to do the shackle on the front of the spring too. Those are the first two parts from left to right on the page. Just depending on your finances, you need to decide how far you want to go with it. Doing springs, shackles, bushings, U bolts and the works could be $700 doing it yourself..

Let me know if you can't find them aftermarket, there are some factory NOS parts still available.

Does this need to be a "quick get er done" thing or do you have time to do a little work to it? If you have a little bit of time, you could go to the junkyard and get the back half of a frame. My local junkyard had a truck sitting there that had been stripped and was going to the crusher. They cut the frame in half and sold it to me for $50. I took that home, drilled out the rivets, and replaced a lot of the rusty crossmembers and brackets on my frame.

My frame was very rusty like yours. You will find if you get a new spring hanger, there is not much to bolt the new one to. What I did was scrape and paint my frame really good, and then I took a section of the junkyard frame and cut it out, cut the top of the "C" off and made it into a "L". I then slipped this "L" section inside my frame to re-enforce it, it was paper thin like yours back there. I didn't even have to weld it in, by the time I bolted all the brackets on and the trailer hitch, it was in there and not going anywhere.

Since you use yours heavily, it may be something you will want to plan on doing. Here's a picture of what I did, you can barely see the piece of inserted inside my frame.

We have the Bracket, Hanger Mounting Bolts that replace the rivets, Spring Eye Bushings and also the springs if you are looking to replace the entire thing. I don't know if you have the choice of Private Messaging but if not send me an email at atssprings@gmail.com and we can figure out exactly what you are looking for!

A lot of times new springs already have the bushings pressed in. They are usually just rubber instead of urethane, but those OEM rubber bushings lasted 30 years.

Hi Dave,
Yes for the inspection sticker. Do you know where I could get this bracket, and now I see I will need the bolt and bussing for the leaf spring? I have a ford dealer near by Mathusen Ford in Winchendon. But I did not know what to ask for.

I looked at that and did not see any ford parts, just chevy parts.
