This paycheck I can got only one thing, either the blue spring upgrade or a coolant filter, I am leaning toward the blue spring but was wondering what would be most important. Thanks all.
Fuel pressure can kill 8 injectors at $220 a stick. Coolant filter tries to save the $320 oil cooler. And an oil cooler is an easier swap than 8 injectors IMO.
Worst that could happen:
no blue spring - all injectors fail "out of blue": $1600 in parts
no coolant filter - if monitoring - oil cooler plugs $300 in parts not monitoring $800 parts oil and EGR cooler, not caught in time head gaskets (hopefully thats all) $$$$$
IMHO blue spring and monitor Deltas plus possibility truck will run better right away

lupuseven nailed it: you need to go after monitoring numero uno, you decide: SGII, Torque Pro, Dash Boss, etc. and THEN Blue Spring (maybe) depending on what your data tells you -- like if you had major delta temps btwn EOT and ECT, you will be doing other work that the coolant filter might have helped avoid, but you are past that, at that point.
Knowledge is power on these engines.
If you do have data capture and deltas are good,FICM is good (yada yada), then I'm going with the blue spring as an upgrade (that should have been in the truck from the factory)....
Do you know it is not already updated with blue spring already? Sucks to spend $ on stuff you already have. Also, if your housing isn't leaking, just get the spring. You really don't need all the other stuff in the kit. The spring is a lot cheaper by itself. $20 shipped vs. $75 for entire kit.
Then you can buy a scan gauge from advance auto for $111.99 (save $48.00). Use code TRT30
That's what I would buy if I had $150 to spend...scangauge II and blue spring.
Blue spring is a no-brainer. Catch the XDP coolant filter on one of their sales and you are into both for less than 2 bills and a couple of hours including beers...
I will order the blue spring online since my local Ford dealer wont go down below $89. the excuse is that they are not a high volume dealer so they cant come down any.
