Hello I'm back again with a new problem this time with a set of bushing I got from autozone. I went back to the store today to confirm they were the right ones and they pulled out a box of the exact same ones as they had sold me before doing the bushing. Well for some darn reason when I put everything together when I put the last washer on I just don't have any room left to get the nut on. No matter how hard I try to push them in I just can't get the nut on the thread of the radius arm to squeeze the bushings down and install them. So I'm asking today what order should they go in and what all are possibility as to what may or may not be wrong? And if anyone asks no they have not been replaced during the life of the truck because it still had the old rivets in place to hold the bracket on the frame. Thanks in advance Shadow.
Also the part number for the ones I purchased at autozone is FA7125 if that helps.
Sounds like a pain in the butt. Any other way to compress them just enough to get the threads start? I'm not against a come along but If I can cheat a little without compromising the bushing I would be very happy. Would shaving one bushing down just a hair be a bad idea? It would not be a huge amount but just enough to get the nut on the threads.
Shaving the bushings down would probably not be a good idea.
I figured so but had to ask. Just to give an update on the situation I put the front bushing and washer on in proper order along with the bracket. I bolt up the bracket and it was going good up until I tried to get more leverage to a get a bolt just a hair tighter and me not thinking pushed on the tire like I did last night to get a bolt free in the first place and ended up pushing it forwards just enough to where I can't get it back in the hole right so I will most likely have to use a come along now and a extra set of hands.
