Hey everyone. I just bought a lifted '07 crew lariat diesel that has a 6" lift and 37x20's. I thought it was a 4" and 35's but when I got all the way to Phoenix it was larger. Deal was great with just 67K.
Any way, I want to lower it to a 4" and run 35's. Any suggestion on how to do this. Do I have to buy an all new 4" kit or can I do this with without that.
I will of course list the tires and wheels to go smaller...
Nice looking truck like it is! if you want to come back down 2in it depends on the design of the lift kit that's in there now. Anything is possible if you have a torch and welder. You could cut the front springs or replace lift spacers (if it has them), and the rear blocks can be cut or replaced. It's hard to tell from the picture but if the rear leafs are "re-arched" that may require replacement and could be the most expensive part. I'm guessing just two inches isn't going to be an issue for the shocks but that might warrant a little research with the manufacturer. The track bar should work out ok even if it's a solid design but many aftermarkets are adjustable so you can get it "spot" on.
Nice looking truck truck check out how they did rear see if they left the factory lift blocks you could possibly just remove them and lower it a bit and the front maybe remove one leaf or look on ebay I just bought new procomp front 4" lift springs for about $225.00 and free shipping.it may be easier than messing with it.then just post your six inches and get some of your $$$ back either way good luck and enjoy.monitor, monitor, monitor!
For sure springs, which is why I traded the '04... And a few other things as well.
Thank you though it really is sweet looking and I love a lifted truck no question but need a bit better fuel mileage out of it. It was just too nice and had low enough miles to not want to pass on it.
I am interested in the cutting the springs down a little. I have all that I would need to do that but have no idea how much so to take it down (yes it is all springs, no spacers, that would be easy). In the back I could easily have the lift blocks shortened. And of course I don't want to have to "redo" anything up front. Track bar ect... I am going to go out and see if its adjustable though.
