My new 2014 came with the switches as an option. What are you all using the switches for primarily? I was thinking some bed lights would be my first upgrade but 4 switches...I can't think how Ill ever fill all of them.
I have already wired in a back up camera. Next will be a set of back up lights for when I am hooking up the trailer, and a couple of bed lights. The final switch will be for some running lights mounted on the front air dam and side steps.
Thanks. It wasn't my parts guy. It was the link to the web site that indicated that part would not fit. As someone said, it might have just been that the application link has not been updated for 2014.
Does anyone know which kit/year switches to get to put the upfitters into a 2004?
There's not any specific kit or year that is going to just snap into your 04, the dashes are inherently different and there is no location for them without some work being done. A friend of mine is replacing the lower dash section of his 04 with that of a manual F650, which would give you a spot to mount upfitters if you chose. Then you would have to wire them in independently, as there is no harness existing in your '04 for them. The wiring is very simple if you go that route, I have a thread where I installed a second set of upfitters and it fully explains how to wire them in and retain all their factory functions. Just find a mounting spot and buy a kit off eBay. The 05-07 kits have a slimmer bezel surrounding the switches while the 08+ kits have a much wider bezel. Comes down to preference if there's no set location you're trying to fill.

The parts are a little different for the 2004-2008 MY trucks the relays are behind the glove box easy install and you have to run the harness behind the radio to where the switches are installed. Did this install on my 2005.
There are kits for 05+ trucks that include the switches, harness, and fuse box; I was thinking this would work. My 04 has a cubby where the 05+ put the switches, I figured I could trim this out or get an 05 lower dash piece depending on how the switches fit. I would then just run wires out from this aux fuse box as needed. The only difference then between this and factory would be that the aux wires are already ran to the engine bay, right?
