A/C Wiring Harness

The wiring harness that controls the A/C is causing the A/C to function intermittently. My mechanic repaired a wire in it a few months ago, but now it is causing problems again. Today, he wiggled the harness and and the A/C started working again. Is this in the motor harness or does it have it's own? He will be looking for one on Monday, but in the meantime I want to see if could find a source. Where would I look to find one, either new or used? What would the part number be?

Thanks for any help.

Instead of replacing the entire harness, how difficult would it be to by-pass the harness with a single wire connected to the compressor and then routed to where ever the harness wire is connected to the control device? I know this is a kluge solution, but it should work if someone knows what he is doing and probably save a lot of money. Of course, if it is controlled by the PCM, than it might throw error codes, but it is not throwing one now, so it must be blind to this problem.

If you find the break in the existing harness, it's way easier and cheaper to repair that than to replace the entire harness. The only time I'd replace the entire harness is if the connectors are broken or wires severely rotted out.

Yes, my mechanic has already repaired it once about a month ago. Maybe I should have him just repair it again and see what happens. I still like the idea of a bypass wire if that is possible.

How was the repair done...crimp connectors? The correct way is to solder the splice then use heat shrink tubing to keep the moisture out.

Yes, I like the solder method best, but not sure how he did it, will check tomorrow. The way he sounded when he called me Friday a short time after I dropped the truck off, it may have been a 2nd break. When he wiggled the harness, it started working again.

OK, found the problem. I misunderstood my mechanic about the wire repair. What he did was take the connector off and than put it back on and it worked and he did not charge me to do this. He said at the time if there were any more problems with it, bring the Navi back. Today he replaced the connector and now it is working fine.

Thanks for all your replies.
