I went to the Jefferson swap meet today and found Bonus Built sign I had to buy. I think this might be a new offering, I've never seen it before but there were at least two vendors selling them.
At first I thought it was the same as the Cracker Barrel sign Doc posted about last year but this one is metal, not wood. It cost only $10. I missed the one from Cracker Barrel, I wasn't going to let this slip by.
I still would like to get one of the wooden ones but I was too late to get one from the nearby Cracker Barrel. I did an image search and found out the Cracker Barrel sign used a very common image found on the internet so I'm thinking I'll just make my own.
I played around with the image I found on the web of the truck used in the Cracker Barrel sign. The first one is the Cracker Barrel sign. The second is the image they used I found on the net. The third is my try at reproducing the Cracker Barrel sign. I think I'll have to make one on wood.
Nice. I'll look for one tomorrow. May need your guidance on the seller locations.
I found mine in the field toward the north. The seller only had one but then about 2-3 rows to the south I found another vendor who had a few more. Both of them said they could get more, I have the card from the first guy. He said he's going to be at the Waukesha show and Washington County Fair.
Nice work, as usual Bob. That looks great. You could make and sell them, but it's probably copyrighted.
I have to wonder if they got permission to use the image in the first place. I've seen it on numerous sites. The ones I found tonight while doing a Google image search were all Spanish sites but I think it's used on the "How it works" site also.

Thanks. Sent you an option for a truck image that may look hauntingly familiar.
Yea, I've seen several pictures of that truck too. It seems like there are a few pictures of it in front of an old adobe house, with a couple of guys standing around it. The guys are kind of dressed to make you think the pic was taken in the 50's or so.
I think those are New Mexico plates on the truck
We had a discussion on those pics before and I'm convinced at least some of them are authentic, used in Ford ads back then. Remember the discussion on those black steel brackets sticking out the back end? As I recall the ads said the trucks were working up at Cochiti Pueblo.
I like how they wore ties and hats everywhere back then. I doubt I could handle having a tie on every day, I know from my limited exposure to ties I'd go nuts, but it sure seemed like a classier time back then. The only time I see non business people wearing a suit and tie now are the guys older than 80 years old going to church. Anyone under 40 you're lucky if their Sunday church clothes aren't faded and have holes in them.

That is funny and makes me want to share this. I have an old T shirt that said.
"To all you young virgins, Thanks for nothing wit a pair of cherry's with the
stems crossed on them. I was invited to a pastors conference soon after I came to know my Lord. I was unknowingly wearing this shirt one evening
while playing B ball. One of the old time Baptist wives that was watching the game ask me why I would even own a shirt like that let alone where it.
All I could think to say was "That when the Lord changed my heart he didn't change my wardrobe."
Really ya all had to be there. This was one of them snotty know it all
praise the Lord Baptist preachers wives. The whole court and even her Husband laughed so hard we had to end the game. I made some friends that night.
I am not sure I can share this her so delete it Mods if ya have to. Sounds strange to ask if it's oaky to talk and share the Lord here.
