silly question - this forum's name

Why doesn't this forum's name include 240 - it has 200, 250, 300. Why not 240?
There, the silly question of the day.

Hrmm.... I'm not sure on that one.
I agree though, should be 200/250 240/300.

There, the silly question of the day.
What about the 144 and 170?

All the way back to the Model K maybe?

Too many to list.

List of Ford engines - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Note the FE/FT forum similarly skips certain engines, especially the FT line.

I wondered about the lack of the 240 too. Additionally there is no "parallelism of thought" in that the 300 is also designated as 4.9L - why not designate the 200 as a 3.3, or better yet, omit the metric references altogether.

Because the 300 was used well into the years when engines became metric.

1906/08 Model K was a passenger car, came w/a 405 cid L-6. Henry hated the Model K, it was overpriced and against his wishes that it was introduced.

He also hated 6 cylinder engines, didn't introduce another until 1941 (226 L-6).

250 I-6: Misc 1969/80 Passenger Cars & 1969/74 Ranchero.
