Pulled all the ABS sensors today. Rear looked clean. Front right had some metal shavings crap on it, but the front left had a big wad of it sticking off the end. Wires looked OK with the eyeball test. So I am hopeful that I may have found the issue, we'll see after I drive it some.

How do you pull the sensor out of the hub to check them? They seem to disappear down into the hub somewhere and I'm not sure how I actually remove it without breaking something else.
Hopefully you did. There just had to be enough material to mask the quality of the waveform. I'm glad you got the front out as some destroy them while doing that.
The reason I asked about the source of the sensor is that Ford has a tight spec on all of there sensors, more so then some of other aftermarket sources. They promote this to their parts salesman in their training programs. Otherwise it's Brent's attempt at harassing me.

Mine is 2WD, so I imagine it's totally different. It was 1 bolt and pull it straight out from behind the wheel. When I was asking in your thread about damaging it, I just assumed you had them out for the heat shield job without even thinking the obvious that your setup is not the same.

Every time I do anything to this truck, I thank the Lord for a rust free southern truck. The bolts holding the sensors are still shiny on both wheels and came out by hand after I broke them loose with the puny 1/4" drive ratchet. (Sowwy Christina!)
I would be terrified to try that on my 97 chebbie with 17 Ohio winters on it. On that truck, I always assume whatever I am taking apart underneath will break, strip, round off, or otherwise leave me cursing.
I'm not sure I fixed this issue yet, (so far so good) but I have learned a few things about ABS from the attempt. FTE is awesomeness!
I'm just shocked that anyone would be butting heads with Brent.

I think I've driven the truck enough to say it's fixed. 10 minutes of crawling around under the truck and no parts. Gotta love that! The one sensor looked just like one of these.

Much thank for the help from all and especially Jack (fmtrvt) for nailing it. Love FTE!
