Ok. I finally got my fuel gauge and stuff worked out so my next project I guess will be horn(s). What are you guys running? I kinda would like to have an original looking set of trumpet horns under the hood. Ilya ya got any?? I know I could go to my favorite junk yard (i mean Part Re-engineering Supply) and grab a set of any horns out there and hook them up. I'm good on the hook up part etc. Just want some input and pics on what y'all have and all.
Thanks,
Wayne
^^^ That's not a 48-50 "trumpet" horn. The original 48-50 horn resembled one from a Model A. Trumpet horns were used starting in 1951. Unfortunately, I don't have any correct 48-50 horns, but I do have several 51-52 trumpet horns.
So on the 6v horns....I'm assuming it won't hurt to run 12v to them on the occasion I want to mash the horn. Can't be any worse than running the 6v starter right?

Back in the late '80s, I converted my '51 F1 Panel to 12V and left the original horns in - man did they sound great! Loud and angry like a freight train!!
Wish I could find another set - got a set of an early '40s passenger car on my truck now - loud, but not like the truck horns!!
