I have an 06 expy, It doesn't look like I have a lot of options for mounting a brake controller , but any ideas would be great. I was thinking right above the gas pedal would be the only option.
I don't know exactly how the inside of the newer expy's are but i normally mount mine farther to the right of the gas pedal (some place it's not easily kicked) and high enough where it can still easily be reached in case you ever needed to manually hit the brakes in an emergency. Is there a pocket you could put it in? Do you plan on permanently mounting it or taking it out when not in use?
I have a center console and no pockets, but i think I can mount it high enough to keep from hitting it. I will leave it in the expy, but it comes with a clip that I can take it out easily.
Thanks for the reply, but mine has no pocket, so I put on the left side of the steering wheel, just above the brake and hood levers. I will post pics here shortly.
I was worried about that, but this was the only spot that I could see it easily. I did check for leg clearance and with the key in I do have to watch it. But with the key out the seat slides back and I have plenty of room. So I thought I would try it, so far so good. I did hit it once when I was hooking the camper up, but if becomes an issue I will move it to the other side.
In my 03 (basically same truck), mine is on the right side and a little more towards under the dash. My display is more towards the top of the unit so it's still easy to see with it under the dash.
