It was pretty cold the other morning. Cold enough to have frost on the windshield. Once i started driving i noticed the EBPV never closed. So today I investigate. I found the plug on the EBPV solenoid is broken and held together with zip ties. Not the plug on the wiring harness, but on the solenoid. I already know which mechanic did it and i went rounds with him a year and a half ago when I ran into a number of other problems resulting from his half assed maintenance.
I cannot find just a solenoid anywhere, only the whole pedestal. I don't have that kind of money to drop right now. I've called the local junk yards, searched fordparts.com, rockauto, riffraff, and a number of other sites. Can anyone help me here?
That will work for this summer. I don't know what difference it really makes but it gets used quite a bit in the winter. I know it's for warm up and keeping the engine warm at idle in cold weather, but I'm a good several miles down the road before I don't hear it anymore on really cold mornings.
Anybody ever used the Banks Brake? I don't remember where I read it, but I've read it before that it will function as an EBPV since it replaces the factory EBPV.
