I wish to upgrade my HPOP original is 238,XXX and I have a '00 with less than 120,XXX. I have tried to search but could not find exactly what i need to know. Any pit falls? Should i do this or send the Original pump out for seals and bump up the angle. Still running stock injectors but in the future ( when needed) wish to go 160 cc.
Until you go to the 160cc's, the SD pump is a good upgrade. I would just put it in and go with it. In the stickies I think is a good write up on changing them out. Just don't over tighten the two mounting bolts and use anti seize!
I wouldn't say healed up but I feel 100 times better than I did 3 weeks ago.
I'm still doing PT. I go to the Dr. Monday and I hope he lets me go back to work cause this workers comp pay sucks azz.
Thanks guys, it's the '96. I never gave any thought to it when posting but I remember seeing/hearing that ref the '95 now that ya'll remind me. I will be taking a look at it today I reckon and see what's involved. I don't have hi-speed internet here but If I go out the road a ways I can look for stickies or what ever. It's no fun trying to search on dial up. An unsuccessful repair on an oil leak is prompting the switch. Have a great Easter weekend ya'll!
Long time getting back. The HPOP change went pretty well. I also took off the passenger side exhaust manifold to repair an up pipe leak. No noticeable oil, fuel, or exhaust leaks. I don't think this truck ever ran this good. The only problem was when I first tried to start her there was no oil pressure. After a search of the threads I figured the IPR was stuck from the SD HPOP. Changed out from leaky pump and fired up.
Thanks for letting us know you got her working again. We appreciate the follow up and someone searching in the future will see the problem AND the solution.
