HPOP

Anybody know a good quality source for a new/reman HPOP? I really don't need anything hopped up or anything, its a work truck and has 310k. Just something to get it running and reliable again. Thanks

When I bought another one, I just went on Rock Auto and got it. I don't know everywhere that offers HPOPs, but the price there seemed good and it didn't give me any trouble when I used it. However, that was with a 95 motor, and I swapped to a 96 motor which uses a different HPOP so I'm not longer running that one.

Get a Bosch replacement, part numbers below. Do a Google search of part number and go shopping.
What year truck is it for?
HP004X for '94.5 - '95
HP005X for '96 - '97
HP007X for E'99
HP008X for '99.5 - '03
If you have a '95.5 - '97 I'd go for the HP008X. It will give you more flow should you ever decide to go with larger injectors. You'll just need to forfeit the core charge as there is a like-for-like core required when you buy one.
If you have a '94.5 - E'95 then you need to stick with the HP004X because it's a different pump, you can't drop in an 8X in place of it.

EDIT: Make sure it's BOSCH, not Bostech, or any other 'reman' company.

Thumbs up

I read on here that many guys like the Terminator-500 pump. I swear I read it was in the mid $500 range too.

just buy a t-500 from Joey and be done with it. And you won’t lose the core charge going to a bigger pump. Either way, as Jim said, make sure you get a Bosch
