"death wobble"

I have a 2006 F350 King Ranch dually with a 6.0, whats the death wobble I heard the phrase yesterday? My front needs alligned but the front driver side tire also shakes the hole truck every now and then when I hit a bump and when im going down the highway I have to stop completely to stop it and have a hard time turning my wheel, my question is this has anyone else had this problem and what do I need fixed? Im worried taking it to a shop will cost me alot more if im not informed

Welcome Wayne...
death wobble is a term some have coined to indicate the front wheel shake when hitting a bump... it's not, NOT! a ford exclusive feature

It could be weak, old shocks, steering stabilizer, worn front end parts, oversized tires that are not controlled by the shocks/steering stabilizer.... etc....

LOT'S of reading if you care to on here and other sites:

Death wobble is an uncontrolled oscillation of the front wheels, usually after hitting a bump or under braking. All solid front axle trucks have been known to suffer from this, it's not a Ford only thing. The lifted trucks tend to get it worse but stock trucks are not immune. The causes are legion - a bad tire, low air pressure, worn ball joints, worn tie-rod and drag link ends, improper alignment (set caster to max spec is a trick that sometimes helps). What was the cure for me was a new track bar - the rubber bushing at the chassis end showed no signs of wear but had loosened enough to cause the wobble under braking. Oddly it showed up at the same time I put new tires on, the old tires with quite low tread depth remaining didn't have a problem. I put on fairly aggressive tread Hankooks in the stock size and they were awful. My dealer swapped them out for Michelin highway tread tires and they were better. The fix at the end of the day was the new track bar.
