Another push button start question :)

Hey guys I've been a lurker for quite some time here. Now before everybody gets mad... I have done just about every search on here and haven't had any luck yet..

I am building a offroad Truck that will be strictly used in the desert. I have a 1989 f150 5.0 2x4. I need to get rid of the steering column and ignition to run a different style column with quick release steering wheel.. now my main question is, what wires will I have to switch around in order to run just a power on switch and momentary push button? Dash is completly removed as of today and will be making a fiberglass one in place once my cage is done.

thanks for the help!

Make a list of the color of the wires going to the ignition switch. It was on top of the column, behind the dash. Going from memory;

Yellow wires are the hot wires from the battery

Red/blue-touch the yellow wire to the red/blue and it should crank unless your neutral start switch is not working.

There are a couple other wires there, one of them feeds the fuse box and one of them feeds the ignition coil. There are a couple others you probably don't need.
