From your house in Cary to Waukesha and then out to Palo Alto, then back to Prescott is a total of 3000 miles, fuel would cost $1350 just for this leg. From Prescott back home to Cary would be another 1800 miles, fuel another $800 back to your home from Prescott. Total fuel cost would be $2150, subtract $1200, it comes to $950 out of your pocket. If you paid to go to Prescott and back it would be about $1600.

But then by taking to the two cars across state lines you'd be doing interstate commerce. But think about the stories you would have afterwards.
