Rear window help

Rear passenger's side window doesn't work, everything else is OK so its not the fuse, switch, or lockout.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Been through this, most likely the motor about $98~. Mine worked intermittently just the same as being totally broke.

Before checking or replacing the motor I would check the wiring in the door hinge area.

I have had to do a repair to the wires in the rubber boot that you see when you open the door.

I agree. Just installed a new door and found that if the boot wasn't properly installed at the factory there's an opportunity to rub against the door.

It's pretty easy to tell. Pull the boot from the door. If the thin boot material extends well into the door you are probably good. Mine was tucked up inside the boot and wires were rubbing.

It was the motor, called local Ford dealer, got told it was NLA, called another and got told it could be here tomorrow so I ordered one.

Got home and decided to look into the motor, took the armature cover off, spun the armature by hand a couple times, tested it and it worked! Cancelled the order and promised myself to use that window every once and awhile.

Sometimes motors just get a dead spot on the armature from lack of use, I think that's what happened.

Yes, I found using them will keep them working. Glad you got it going.
