2008 F350 Window And Door Lock Problem

Hi folks,

I recently bought a 2008 SD crew cab F350. The left rear door has two issues. The first is the power door lock. It does not work on the switch on that door, or from the drivers door. The other 3 door locks work as they should.

The second issue is the power window. It will not work with the switch in the door, but does work fine from the drivers door.

Given that both of these issues are in the same door, I am wondering if there might be a loose ground wire somewhere? I have checked the fuses, and they seem to be fine.

Thanks for your help!

I did a bit of trouble shooting on the power window. I swapped the RRD switch [works fine in the right rear door] in the LRD and there was no change, it still did not work on the door. If I disconnect the door window switch altogether, the window will not work at all, even from the drivers door. So it would seem there is power there in the door itself.

Found the problem yesterday. Four broken wires inside the rubber boot, between the door and the frame. Soldered the wires back together, and put heat shrink tubing on eack wire.

Makes me wonder about the condition of the wires in the other 3 doors.

Good looking out.

Smile Severed Wires

Thank you so much for posting this! I have tried to figure out my window issue for over a year and then the door lock quit working a couple weeks ago. Talk about frustrating. I took the harness apart and it looked exactly like your photo. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
