Frustrating Starter Problem
1996 F150 XL w/ 300 inline 6, 5 speed
starter is not disengaging. I get a grinding noise from starter when engine is started and the grinding does not stop until I turn the key off. I have replaced the starter (autozone), replaced the starter relay (autozone), replaced the starter/ignition switch (autozone), and even tried shimming the starter. Nothing works and am getting seriously frustrated
. Anyone have any ideas or advice? Thanks
