Question Back up sensor sensitivity...

2006 F-250 Super Duty King Ranch Lariat FX4

Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity of the back-up sensor? I have just added a hitch to the back and now the sensor is always alerting. I have a physical toggle switch on the dashboard to turn it off, but I don't need to do that until I'm actually towing something. Any recommendations? Thanx.

Not too much you can do.
If I leave my tailgate down mine goes off. The sensor works by ultrasonic echo location.
You can drive with the hitch stowed or just have learn to live with it. The other option
if you looking for something to give the tailgaters some thing to run into is get a low
profile hitch that does not reflect the signal back to the sensor.
