Sensor

Bought a Icp sensor, part # F6TZ-9F838-A. Found the one on my truck and it looks nothing like it. Does anyone have the part number for this sensor for an 2002 7.3L? If I have the wrong one what sensor do I have?

That's the correct part number for the ICP sensor.
What sensor are you looking at on your truck?

Ok I was looking in the right spot. I did not know that they had changed the design on them.

I did not know that either. Good info Alan. That thing looks a lot like the EBP sensor. Makes me wonder if they're the same, just put in a different bag and given a different part number.

Injector Controller Pressure - it takes a pressure reading of the high pressure oil from the high pressure oil pump, that's driving the injectors.

Heres another good wrinckle. On the Autometer Phantom II full sweep oil press gauge its sender looks eactly like the ICP and EBP sensor. Its only a resistance sensor and the PCM looks up the value in the tables so it may be a standard sender.

Doncha' think it kinda' unlikely that the ICP, which measures in thousands pf PSI, and the EBP, which measures in "ones" of PSI, are the same transducer?

That's a pretty-high dynamic range to ask of any sensor.

Yea, after thinking about it, the diaphram has to be alot stouter in the ICP. But all three do look the exact same from the outside

Here's what you can do though.
Screw an ICP sensor into one of the oil plugs on the head.
Plug an autometer fuel pressure gauge into it (same exact plug).
Multiply by 100.
Voila: In-cab isolated ICP gauge.

Dang, if I had known that when I put my overhead gauges in, I would have gotten a 4 pod mount.
