Block drain Q

Can the block be completely drained of coolant from the block heater? I know of the drain plugs on each side of the block. Just wondering if the block will completely drain there.
Thanks

There will be those high and low s pots and crevices that you won't be able to get it all out. But I wonder if you blow air through the degause bottle if you can get the rest of it out. Why are you wanting to completely drain the block?

Gotcha, I would think forced air from a leaf blower or shop vac might aid in getting it all out but I could be wrong.

With it out keep running good water threw it. That will flush as much as you can out of the system. It takes a lot but should do it.

the right side of the block will not drain from the heater port.

I put a flush T in the heater hose, remove the thermostat and let fresh water run through it flowing out the top of the degas bottle. when it gets clear I seal it up drive it a few miles and re-pete. after all the chemical / soap or whatever you used is gone than do a flush with distilled water and service with antifreeze.

...but the passenger side of the engine block will drain. I used this method when draining for cup replacement.

Thanks Rich, Gotter done yesterday, blew some air through the cooling system as well and got more water out too. Was kinda hoping you would chime in yesterday, thought i read some where you used this to drain the block.
