dipsticks

Hello all, I am in need of some clarification. I am in Alberta and seemed to have misplaced both my dipsticks for the power steering pump and my c-6 transmission. The power steering dipstick is the actual dipstick not the cap. Any ideas where I could get these from. Would any transmission dipstick work from a c-6? So close to getting my truck back on the road, but can't do it without these. Thanks in advance.

As far as I know the only variation on the C6 dipstick is the extra long one used on econolines, it goes clear up to the front of the engine. As far as the power steering dipstick, if it is like this one, you will probably have a little harder time finding one.

I've seen the power steering dipsticks for sale before. Can't remember for sure but try either NPD or LMC. Not sure on the trans dipstick.

Thanks guys, that does help. I do have the pump like in the picture. Just not sure, but will see if PartSource or Napa can order them in.

EZ to find in junkyards.
D6AZ-3A006-B (replaced C7AZ-3A006-A; D1VY-3A006-A & D6AZ-3A006-A) .. P/S Pump Dipstick-Steel w/a crooked handle / Use with Ford P/S Pump with steel reservoir / Obsolete

1967/77 all FoMoCo Passenger Cars / 1967/77 F100/350 / 1969/74 Econoline / 1973/77 Bronco.

Not the same P/S pump dipsticks:

Saginaw P/S pump (resembles a ("canned ham") used on 1972/79 Passenger Cars with Hydro-Boost & 1975/91 Econolines.

1978 and later Ford P/S pumps have a plastic reservoir. The dipstick is also plastic and is much larger in diameter than the 1967/77 D6AZ-3A006-B steel dipstick.

LMC carries the P/S dipstick in both painted and chrome versions for the original style, expensive at $18.95 painted or $24.95 chrome, they also have a replacement thats $6.95
They also have a stainless steel C6 dipstick but at $54.95, I would look for a stock replacement.

My bad. Wasn't sure how recent they were in use. Around here you aren't allowed into any of the salvage yards any more, you have to tell them specifically what you want and if they have it then they pull it and bring it to the counter for you. Even if you could go in they don't keep anything older than the LATE 90's at best. Around here rust is so bad that 80's models on the road are getting scarce and something like dent sides, especially in good shape are rare as hens teeth.

No, absolutely not!
What year is the truck? If it's a 1978 or 1979, what is the engine size?

Thanks again guys. I only want to order locally as I tried LMC once and the shipping was crazy. The truck is a 1977 f-150 custom witha 351m. The power steering is from a 1976 f-150. Really tight budget here and not finding any "parts trucks" of those years around here. Again, I appreciate your help.
