Just got this code on my 97 Explorer 4.0 SOHC. I thought I felt a little difference in shift points but I still have all gears including overdrive. I have no flashing OD light. I cleared the code and drove for about 15 min and check engine came back on. How long have people driven with this active code? If I clear code and drive a couple of days with the overdrive turned off, will the check engine light stay off so I can get car inspected? Truck runs perfect but does have 160K on it so I doubt I will do any major work to trans.
