I'll stick to upgrading to 140.
I'm not looking for extra horsepower, only a more stable injection system, without burning or melting wires.

Lower voltage = higher amps, giving higher internal temperature.

Based upon my before and after experience the difference is really negligible. If you do this mod and look for a difference, you might see one but there is no way you'll be able to walk up to a truck and say "oh yeah for sure this one has a 140V IDM in it". The difference is really marginal. The throttle response might be a little snappier, the idle might be marginally smoother, but that's about it. If you're doing this and expecting a big seat of the pants improvement, I think you'll be disappointed.

Like Nate says, even the Swamps HVHF (HFHV?) IDM wasn't a noticeable difference for the money! Sounds better in theory then in the foot or seat of the pants, LOL

In short, I don't doubt that it's doing something, I just don't think it is doing much.

Those seem like reasonable thoughts and good reason for me to leave mine untouched.

Not fair glenn, ya can't compare your swamps $275 dollar IDM mod to a $1 DIY mod

Is it OK that I have done both? LOL Hi Rich, I know what your saying. I'm just a sucker for some sales pitches. When you read about it on Swamps website, it sounds like it will make toast and put peanut butter on it for you!
