I have a 86 2wd f250 with a 6.9l idi w/4speed and I have a 85 f150 4wd inline w/4 speed I was wondering how hard it would be to make the f250 4wd and before you ask why the f 150 has a broken frame
You would need a heavier duty front axle, get rid of the springs, unless you steal some from a diesel van, and then all of the other typical swap issues.
Uhm I don't think you'll like a t18 if your used to a t19, but you'll need 4x4, unless you want to divorce it. Obviously driveshafts both ways.
The 4x4 linkage, and hole in your floor.
Uhm let me think here for a minute
I can not say for certain that there is or isn't a difference between the 4x4 and 2wD t18/19.
I feel like either way the dang thing has a a spline in the front of the t case and maybe back of transmission
It all depends on condition. They have a cult following almost like ford. I love my motor as much as I do my truck. I would seal a spare 300 in over a 302 or 351 any day. But that's me.
In my opinion, yes.
You either have a full parts truck, or a easy fix and beater.
I blew my rings in cylinder #1 8k ago, towed ,10k 400miles and have no issues except a little extra blowing and this is with the stock 1 bel intake and log exhaust. I'm putting money into my rebuild and a 5speed.swap.
