battery drain issue

battery drain issue

how can i go about findinig the battery drain i am experiencing?

Get a testlight and hook it up like the above picture. If the light lights up, you have a drain. Then start pulling fuses till the light goes out. Make sure you close the door during testing, the domelight will be a drain as well as a hood light.

If you can't get the light to go out, then take all the wires off the alternator, and then see if the light goes out.

Often times, this type of drain is associated with connections for a non-factory trailer hitch or aftermarket stereo/amplifier.

Hey just an idea-
Once you locate that source of drain, it may be helpful to have another battery on board. The HiddenPower product will allow you to have a frame mounted extra battery available and trickle charges from the main battery.
