Can someone tell me how they would go about finding the source of a voltage drain? If I leave my vehicle setting for about 3-4 days, the battery is completely dead.
I have replaced battery after battery, replaced the Alternator.
The car will stay running as long as you drive it every day.
But watch out if you leave it set!
I need to know how to go about finding the possible source of this problem.... what would you do to find it?
thanks!
Use a test light. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Connect one end of the test light to the battery and the other end to the cable. If there is a drain, the light will light. Then start disconnecting fuses, one at a time until the light goes out. Make sure the door switch is closed (dome light is off). That should at least get you to the circuit that's causing the drain. Then check whatever is on that circuit. Also, try disconnecting the alternator.
Thanks for the advice, tips, etc...
This is some very helpful information, I think I should be able to find the source of the voltage drain with this.
Thanks to both of you... I bookmarked the link you suggested!
