Floor options?

I have an LMC rubber floor in my 86 extended cab and it sucks...it just never fit right. I want a mat in the truck that is tight to the floor of the truck if that makes sense. I don't like rinkles and waves in the floor. I'm interested in a spray in floor, like bed liner or something. I have seen a few people do it and I really like the way it looks. Thoughts? Suggestions welcome

Have you tried using a heat gun to stretch the mat?

southtexasidi,

Some folks have had good success finding a good used factory floor mat from a later "like" model in a JY. The floors are the same up to 1996.

Since you have a rubber floor mat now, a spray in liner would look fine. The Raptor Liner that KSCop used looks real nice. And someone else did it with rhino liner. Chech the what have you done to your truck today thread for mor details. I want to say it was around page 830 or so. I could be off on the page number.

I like the way bedliner looks on the interior if done right. Im curious how loud it will be in the cab though. is there a way i can spray bedliner and sound deadener too?

I don't think you could do a spray in bed liner and sound deadening. The bedliner goes on like a slightly thick paint, it needs a pretty solid surface to work well on.

I put Duraback bedliner in the interior of my Bronco. It looks pretty good, and clean-up is a breeze. But the floor does get pretty hot above the exhaust, and it's noisy. It's fine for me in my Bronco, but I'd want something with more insulation and sound damping in my truck.

Probably would have to do carpet on top of it to get the sound levels down. If you don't mind me asking, how do you treat the interior of the truck, ie mud, oil, etc.
