need to install brakes, need advice on booster and master...
I am at that point where I am ready to run brake lines and purchase a booster master cylinder setup. I don't want the combo on the firewall. I am looking for advice on under dash setup or under cab setup. Which do you prefer and who's system are you running?
Perhaps you have a setup that you prefer? I'd like to hear it.
BTW, this is going to be for a 55 F100 that has a Camaro disc brake clip and 9" w/ drums.
Thanks for the guidance.

Underdash would be a colossal pita to mount, plumb and service, imho, not to mention take up most of the space normally used for things like heating/cooling and ductwork for the defrosters, wiring, windshield wipers, radio, glovebox, etc. So if you don't want it on the firewall, under floor is your best option. There are many suppliers that can offer you the typical mini booster/Corvette master cylinder w/frame mount kit that should work fine for your application.

I have a CCP booster on my '52, works great (mine is firewall mount). I like their products and here is a great article about installing a frame mount (under the floor) on a '56.

Look on eBay there are several different vendors (COP, CPP, ETC). If you put it under the cab do yourself a favor and also purchase the remote reservoir. Believe me you'll be happier with it than trying to pull up the carpet or fill it from underneath with a mirror and squeeze bottle.
Also, if your have a column shift 3 speed make sure you get a kit that will allow you to still use it. All kits are not for column shift trucks.
