Ignition wire??

Ignition wire??
I popped the bottom plate off the steering column to get to the bad wire at the OD button on the shifter.
As soon as I dropped the plate, this wire dropped. Before I dropped the place, all appeared to be working.
This piece does not look broken, but like it slips over something.
The big hole at top right is where the key tumbler went.
Any idea where it goes?
