Ignition ground wire ?? problem

hey guys... need some help.

There is a small black wire going to the outer edge of the ignition and it has a small black plastic retainer clip that holds it in place. It make contact with the ignition tumbler. Problem is the plastic has broken and the door chime wont stop, plus it is draining my battery somehow. I tried to glue the plastic piece to keep it in place but that is when the battery started to drain all the way down. This wire (which must be a ground wire) comes out of a small wire harness (it has a yellow outer cover) that goes through the bottom of the steering column and also runs to the cruise control in the steering wheel. It then connects under the dash with a standard male/female wire harness connector.

I am looking to replace this yellow wire harness... Does anyone know a part number?

Thanks,
Andy

I don't know the part number, but on my truck that wire is just cut and the key in ignition chime doesn't ding at all.

Pull the wire from the barrel and insulate it so it can't touch ground anywhere and never have to hear that gawd awful door chime again.

Thanks, I'll try that as soon as I get a chance.

That's what I did a LONG time ago now. One thing that was retained that I'm glad of is the door chime sounds off if you leave the headlight switch on and open the door with the key off.

I honestly don't recall how I fixed it.... I sold the truck about 2yrs ago (worst feeling selling her too)... I do recall replacing the gearshift because the wires coming from the OD button get worn and short out leaving you dead in the water.
