Brake Controller Wiring, not tow equipped

99% certain the Ex wasn't built with the tow package option, however it does have the appropriate hitch and 7-round connector. Went to pick up a Prodigy controller today and I'm having some issues with the wiring - as in I have NO idea where to look. I found a bundle of wire ends that seem to match the controller harness color scheme with the exception of the blue on the controller. I have the four wires under the dash that run from the center outwards and terminate along the floor heat duct. One black, one red, one white solid and one white with blue tracer. Are these the correct wires? May be towing a car up from Portland for a friend of mine, old Galaxy hardtop convertible on an 18' tandem flatty - I'd like to have the use of the trailer brakes considering the typical Seattle drivers and traffic...

You should have a grey plug under the dash, look near the trans tunnel under the dash.

Those are the pass through wires from the engine compartment. I actually had to pull my center lower dash panel to get to my plug. It is straight down from the 4wd switch You did buy the adapter harness right?

On my 2001 I had to drop the trim panel below the steering wheel. Once I did that there was a metal bracket with about a 2 1/2 hole in it just below the 4X4 switch.....the plug was just through that hole in the bracket.

This little guy? The grey connector?

Archon, I sure didn't snag an adapter harness. The sales guy was kind of clueless, same as me, and the tech was out for the day.

That might be it. Once you have the standard Ford adapter harness, you'll know for sure. It plugs right in.

Yeah, that's it. Grab the harness and you are GTG.
