Early 99 - Bad Multi Function Switch?

Early 99 - Bad Multi Function Switch?
Hi all,
Searched at length through the FTE forums and google without finding a similar thread. A number of problems started today that seem to point to the multi function switch. It all started with a fast blinker that when cycled would sometimes go back to a normal pace. All bulbs, fuses and easily visible grounds appear fine. Knock on wood, this is the first real electric problem I've had with this truck. Here's some of what is going on:
-With headlamp switch off and the key in the #2 position the running lights/brake lights are lit
-Brake/running lights illuminate very dimly with the key off when the brake pedal is depressed
-Blinker blinkers fast with no other lights on then goes dim and freezes with the running lights turned on or the brake is depressed.
-Hazards blink fine with no other lights on then slow way down with the running lights on or the brake depressed.
-Wipers, washer and high beams appear to function fine.
Does this seem like the multi function switch? Some threads say the switch is can be cleaned...is that realistic? Thanks in advance for the help.
