its actually a really good thing. its comes with a transmission cooler, a rear stabilizer bar, helper leaf springs and certification that your truck can carry a camper. i thought it was cool. most owners end up putting all that stuff on their rigs anyways so its a good thing to have. makes the truck rediculously stable while cornering too.

Where exactly is the transmission cooler? I looked on my truck a while ago when I read that it was part of the package, but I am not a truck technical person and did not know exactly what I was looking for. What is it's location and what does it look like?
I believe most of the things mentioned are now standard equipment.
IMO, the two most important features of the camper pkg are the rear anti-sway bar and the little slip of paper in the glove box that says you can carry a camper with Ford's blessing.
The tranny cooler is located between the a/c and the radiator. Lift up on the rubber cover on top of the grill and have a peak down there. The small one on the very front is the powersteering cooler.
I have the 9900 GVW package, which is an option over the 9700 GVW. Since camper specials have a 200 pound heavier capacity, I assume my extra 200 pound GVW is on the front springs. I do not have the rear sway bars. I can assume that the 'snow plow' package includes the heavier front springs. Therefore, the 9900 GVW package, camper special, and snow plow packages include the heavier front springs. I was wondering why my F350 4 WD CC LB sits a tad bit higher than most other 250's and 350's
The camper package includes the rear stabilizer bar, rear overload springs and heavier front springs, and of course the camper certification. This package does not raise the GVWR or increase your payload, it just handles the load of a slide-in camper better. The transmission cooler is standard on Super Duty with the auto.
