Blow-By
I been driving my truck around locating problems. I have a lot of blow-by but my plugs look good. No oil burning what so ever. It has very good power IMO and runs fine. I cant tell much about oil consumption because my rear main seal leaks pretty bad. I'm going to pull the motor to replace rear seal and clutch. I'm trying to determine how much farther I should go? I know I will put a new oil pump, timing gear and chain and all seals. Should I go ahead and ring it since I have the blowby? main and rod bearings? I'm going to do a compression test and see what that says before I pull it out..

Excess blow by is usually caused by worn or broken compression rings but the first thing I would do is check the PCV system.
Replace the PCV valve. If it is clogged or bad it could cause the appearance of excess blow by without there actually being a problem.
