On my 73, I have factory air and as such the heat box in the engine bay is a mammoth. Does anyone know if I go to heat only if the box would be smaller? Or , are there any aftermarket products that reduce the size?
Haven't installed the Nostalgic Air unit yet, but will be tackling that hopefully within 2 or 3 weeks after I finish getting the steering and brakes finished up.
Haha. Thanks chief. Any lessons learned you care to pass along.
Just one interesting tidbit: Before I installed the plate I was easily able to install headers on the passenger side for a test fit. Later, when I had the plate installed I needed to jack up the motor and remove the motor mount to install the same headers.
For the plate fabrication, I just created a template using cardboard traced from the factory AC housing and once I was happy with the fit transferred to sheet metal. I used a 3M sealant, but got an idea on the forums here to just use Dynamat or Fatmat on the inside of the plate to create the seal.

Hey thanks for the help. Good luck with your build.
