I bought my 2014 F250 XLT just over a month ago. She has just over 5000 miles after a trip across country from San Diego to Montana stopping in Minnesota. So, the other day I got caught driving across North Dakota in a freezing blowing snow nightmare of a blizzard. Drove a few hundred miles through it. Just about home and I get the "Exhaust Filter saturation Drive to clean" warning. Maybe a mile later (going down the interstate) it changes to "Exhaust filter over limit service now" with the check engine light coming on. According to the book I need to take it to a Ford dealer for service. I'm hoping its because of all the ice that attached itself to the bottom of the truck. Suggestions? Advice? I can't believe the filter needs replaced already... Thanks guys in advance.
Thank you, pleasure to be here. I considered that, and believe it or not there is a Ford dealer here in the small town of Glendive MT, but I haven't heard wonderful things about them.

Any news about your truck, jdthedude? Let me know if you need any assistance from my neck of the woods; just PM me your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and servicing dealership so I can check out some options.
So I broke down and brought my truck to the dealer here... and if anyone ever breaks down in Glendive please contact me because I will personally haul, or pay for the tow to get you to the next dealer. What happened.. the blizzard packed my air filter, the exhaust filter got uber saturated obviously, tripped check engine light. I explained all this to the dealership service department, numerous times in fact, and they said yup bring it in Thursday afternoon we can fit you in then. Dropped the truck off... a WEEK later, with no attempt from the dealer to contact me... and numerous calls from me, they finally admit that the truck is ready. They didn't call me to tell me this, I had to call them. Their solution.. "Looks like the exhaust filter got saturated, probably from a blockage in your air filter (no *****), we reset the check engine light and manually regenerated it." A WEEK, an entire WEEK to reset a check engine light... American Ford of Glendive Montana will NEVER see my truck again, warranty or not.
Don't get me wrong, I do NOT hold the tech responsible by any means. I've been in the maintenance field for too long to hold techs responsible for stuff like this.

Sounds like you had a frustrating experience, jdthedude. I'd like to get this documented in our system for the appropriate folks to see. To get the ball rolling, send me a PM with your full name, best daytime phone number, dealership info, and any specifics you'd like to include. I'll do the rest.
So I am traveling from MI to Yellowstone towing 16,000 pound 5th wheel. As I am about to cross the Rockies the warning light for the "diesel exhaust filter overburdened, drive to clean" comes on. Then shortly after that a second message, "diesel exhaust filter saturated, service now" lights up with both the engine light and the wrench light come on. I turn around and drive to nearest Ford dealer in Lander Wyoming. They check the truck the next day and find nothing wrong (all warnings cleared after unhitching the 5th wheel) and give me the ok to continue on. Less than 30 minutes of towing the "drive to clean" warning comes back on, and then the "service now" message reappears. I call the dealer and they advise me to return the truck so they can check it again. They tell me they have had a couple of other super duty trucks towing come in with the same problem but were unable to find a problem. Help! My vacation is quickly passing me by while my family & I sit here at the dealership waiting to find out what may be wrong. I don't want to cross the mountains and break down or ruin my truck, but don't want to spend my entire vacation sitting at the dealership either.
14,000 miles, 2015 F-350 platinum, the only gauges are the factory engine and transmission temps, which are running around 200 engine and 210 trans. The dealer thinks there may be a faulty exhaust pressure sensor but still working on it.

Copy your post to the 6.7 forum as they will be better able to assist you. Crystal [FordService] from earlier in this post should see it and try to get in contact with you to try and get you in touch with a regional service representative who may be able to speed along your service. She'll ask you for some information about your vehicle, and you can either send it to her via a private message (if you're able to send/receive PMs yet) or she'll direct you to send the information to an email address set up specifically for those unable to send PMs.
Also while you are there, if you don't already have one, a winter grill cover may help to prevent this sort of thing in the future.
Every time i read about issues like this it just reinforces my thought that i will never get rid of my 7.3.
Friggin government and their BS EPA standards have ruined so many vehicles. Even Harley Davidson engines are jacked up now. First thing everyone has to do with a new harley is rip factory exhaust off and buy a power commander so the bike will go over 80mph. Such BS, damn liberal hippy tree huggers.
