Hey guys. I'm doing the exhaust on my truck and wanted some suggestions on mufflers. I'm looking into flow master 40 or 44. Differences? I want a beefy muscle car sound.
I have Flow master 40s on my truck I can't wait until I can afford to put new mufflers on it. The noise is driving me crazy, sure it sounds good for about a week then it's just loud.
What were you looking into. I just ordered the super 44. I'm getting two single inlet and dual outlets and running duals out both sides behind the cab and rear wheel. Think you different muffler might sound better?
I have the resonator off a newer Ford F150 on my 351Mmeasly, makes it sound a LOT better than it runs!! Basically, it looks like a short small glasspack, takes the harshness out and is not to loud, however, it still exits behind the rear tire, and THAT makes a big difference.

I don't think I have seen this setup before, give us a description of your truck if you don't mind
I've got the 40s followed by a short pipe exiting in front of the rear wheels. Sometimes it seems a bit too loud and metallic sounding. I'm thinking about having a shop bend me some pipes to exit at the bumper which should dampen the sound some. I also wonder how a crossover pipe would change the acoustics - although this presents a challenge since I went with fenderwell exit headers.
